Biodiversity Conservation through Rural Development Activities
Specific Objectives:
- Management and Organization of the grazing in the southern sector of
the Reserve
- Raising Awareness about the unorganized hunting in Lebanon
- Conserving and Proper Use of Medicinal, Edible and Aromatic Plants
- Support the Eco-Tourism program in the southern sector of the Reserve
Activities:
Grazing
- Organization of introductory meeting with the selected herders to
acquaint them about the project
- Conduct a Rapid assessment for the project site
- Workshop to explain the study results and elaboration of grazing plan
(Zoning)
- Training on dairy products
- Training on goats’ disease control
- Identification and purchase of the needed equipments and materials
- Monitoring of the grazing plan implementation
Hunting
- Raising Awareness about unorganized hunting through general
presentations and lectures in the villages and surrounded schools
- Produce a leaflet about the hunting effects
- Monitoring of the hunting law implementation
Eco-tourism
- Eco-Tourism Guiding Training workshop for the selected volunteers (30
guys)
