Project Title: FREE TO MOVE – EN PLEIN AIR

Objectives and Activities

Objectives of the action
Promote integration between able and disabled, and between different cultures and religions in Lebanon, through the involvement of girls and boys with disabilities and able people, Lebanese, Palestinians and Syrians, in sport activities “in plein air”.

Main activities
Activity 1: Training to trainers: training en plein air -Uisp 20 experts will form 20 operators of Al Shouf Cedar Reserve Society and other active associations in the field of empowerment of the different skills.
Activity 2: Sports workshops en plein air: at the end of the training course, operators trained apply the methodology of boys and girls aged 16 to 25 years old, able and disabled, both Lebanese and Syrian refugees.
Activity 3: In the Shouf Biosphere Reserve, there is a short “Nature walk” trail accessible to disabled people. Through this project we want to build a second path of “Nature for All”, which will enable all people to access areas of the reserve.
Activity 4: Public event in the reserve, which will involve about 100 people, girls and boys Lebanese, Palestinian and Syrian, able and disabled.

Estimated Results
Result 1: 20 operators trained and empowered with skills to integrated people with special needs in different activities.
Result 2: Conducting different activities that aim at the integration and empowerment of the participants, the ability to develop intervention skills in team building, to work in a co design and logic skills acquisition and roles.
Result 3: Rehabilitation of an existing “Nature walk” trail in Barouk and the initiation of a second “Nature for All” trail in Ain-Zhalta based on a technical study developed.
Result 4: Conducting a public event in the reserve, which will involve about 100 people, girls and boys Lebanese, Palestinian and Syrian, able and disabled.
